We offer CAPS and GED pathways for learners in Grades 7–12, ensuring each child follows the path that best suits their individual strengths and career goals.
Partnering with Christian families, Olive Grove is rooted in strong Christian values and focused on both academic success and holistic growth. Here, children are known, supported, and encouraged to truly belong.
With a deep passion for learners that struggle in mainstream—Chantal made the life-changing decision at 38 to return to her studies and become a teacher, determined to make a real difference in children’s lives.
Chantal dedicated nearly a decade to serving in children’s ministry, where her love for working with children and positively impacting their lives truly flourished.
During her studies, she had the privilege of briefly working at a small Christian school in Melkbos, where she facilitated learning for two wonderful girls with Down syndrome. Filled with enthusiasm and hope...
Then COVID-19 turned the world upside down...and Olive Grove was born, a place created during a time when many parents realized their children needed something different: a smaller, calmer, and more nurturing environment.
Olive Grove’s teaching philosophy is inspired by the principles of renowned Christian educator Charlotte Mason. Her approach emphasizes holistic education, nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. Charlotte Mason believed that education is built on three key principles:
“Education is an Atmosphere,
a Discipline, and a Life.”
This means that a child’s learning environment, the habits they develop, and the experiences they engage in are all essential to their growth and development.
At Olive Grove, children are encouraged to embrace values and faith in daily life, guided by affirmations such as:
"I am a child of God;
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I ought to do my duty to God and to others,
I will choose what’s right!”

GED pathway
General Education Development is an American High School Diploma equivalent to a Matric in SA.
The GED is a series of four tests that certify a person's academic knowledge equivalent to a
high school diploma. It is designed for individuals who are homeschooled or did not complete high school, providing them with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in subjects such as math, science, social studies, and language arts. There are many tertiary education institutions that accept GED. If they do not accept GED, then it is possible to do a higher certificate and then pursue and undergraduate degree if so desired.
